Tamiya Bimota Tesi 1D 906SR build

Post by Davethepitch »

Hi all

I have started to build a Tamiya Bimota and straight away I have glued the engine components wrong and spent an hour putting it right.

I have sprayed it semi gloss black as per instructions but I am not sure whether to high lite certain parts Titanium gold or chrome silver.

Another problem I have come across it shows the engine being fitted and then the frame joined together but a build I have found on the net shows the frame assembled and painted without the engine fitted.

I never build as per instructions for some reason so I guess this bike will be no different https://www.scalemates.com/kits/129776- ... i-1d-906sr

Nice to see your doing anotheir bike .what i do is spray the frame and join them togetheir only at the front and then i can spread the back end and squeeze the engine in then join it all up . Hope this makes sence.

Hi Exmoor

Yes that makes sense and I will see what I can do when I come to attach it and the weird thing is about this bike it does not have any forks.

I popped into Emodels today for some blades but they were out of stock but at least I got my paint.

I like doing bikes as they take me longer and I purchased this one with my monthly budget. :)

Just the bit I have done has been a pain in the ar5e and there is loads more detailing to do and it all gets hidden by fairings.

Well it looks like I am going to abandon this build as I have made a right mess of the front steering assembly and glued the wrong parts.

Sorry for the failure folks.

That's a real shame Dave, just a thought rather than let it go to waste, do you have any spare forks and head stocks from another kit? I would see if you cannot create your own custom build of it, if you haven't got any I certainly have loads of spare from when I used upgrade sets on the Moto Gp builds I have done I would be happy to send some to you if want them.

That's a darn shame Dave, no way of removing the parts and re-gluing?
