german equipment colour diversity

an example of the diversity of colors and saturation by suppliers from 1938 - 1944, the same diversity can be seen in other equipment and uniforms which I will add later.

Around the collar markers and the shoulder boards (epaulettes). In this case the tunic is a Heer Panzer crew tunic, so pink is used:



Both the SS and Heer panzer troops used the death head patch, but if it was SS then the double lightning bolts would be used on the right collar and the death head on the left.

As many of you probably watch Andy's Hobby Headquarters YouTube you will have seen his video "Building A desert diorama for a Tamiya 1/35 Panzer III in North African Markings." I personally like this colour and like the mix he used. There were some comments made that the colour was wrong even pink/orange in appearance. Well below is a page from "Germany's Combat Helmets 1933-1945" one many sample of DAK equipment in the pinkish tan hues. Equipment painted in field really is/was a hit and miss but show the true variations that could be found, samples can be found both brushed and sprayed on even masks used to protect insignia.
