Rab Taurus Vacform Canopies

Post by sheppsea »

Good Evening Gentleman,

Has anyone got any experience of using the Rab Taurus Vacform canopies (or any manufacture)? Is there any huge advantage in using them over the clear parts with the kit?

I wouldn't normally bother but I am ordering some masks from Hannants anyway, and noticed these; I have scratched the canopies and although they're not beyond saving I thought I may give these a go but there doesn't seem to be that much information out them on them

When ever possible, I always use vacform canopies over the kit parts, as I feel that they give a more realistic thickness when displaying the canopy open, which I tend to.

I've used Squadron, Falcon, Aeroclub and Rob Taurus, amongst others and have never yet had any issue that wasn't of my own doing though a couple of tips, if you've never used them before, dip them in Klear/Glass Coat Gauzy or similar and ALWAYS use a new blade when cutting them away from the unused plastic.

Hope this helps
