Revell 1:700 USS Indianapolis CA-35

Post by ManCupboardModels »

All done!!

Alot of firsts for me in this build, (ship, weathering and diorama), so quite happy with the outcome. Hopefully, my weathering will improve the more models I build. I really enjoyed seeing the water effect come alive as it was drying, and considering the whole diorama cost less than £5, it was budget modelling at its finest!!

I toyed with the idea of blackened cotton wool smoke effect for the funnels, but it just didn't look right, so decided against it.

Really enjoyed building to a deadline, and look forward to many GB's to come!!

Great Job! I now what you mean about firsts. My TBF is the first aircraft model I built in 20 years! I have been relearning and learning at quite a pace. What was the most challenging part of the build?

Definitely the weathering! Very difficult. Makes you realise how skilled alot of the modellers are on here. Its an art all unto itself!! Looking forward to trying different methods in future builds though, and hopefully get better as I go along.

Great work! I love the water effects, I've yet to attempt anything like that yet, but you nailed it!
