Asking for some pointers

Post by Art »

Hey all,

My stepson asked me to build him a racecar... As I have no experience what so ever with the painting could anyone give me some tips on what works best. I am kind off a perfectionist and want him to be really happy with the result (and I want to feel I gave it my all)

Thanks beforehand!

I would start with a look at some of the car builds on here...especially Paul's of the Porsche 934
Have a peek at some builds and videos u Tube stuff is good too
The actual construction isn't hard, it is trying to get the flawless paint/gloss coats
I am going to link you to the Porsche builds we just finished to start you out

That link has some great builds going on, you're sure to find what you need.

Aside from that, patience and a willingness to screw up and fix it. Car finishes aren't complex, but they are a bit demanding. Take your time and ask questions, no one will blast you for making a mistake here.
