Greetings, Slaves for the Plastic, this week then saw the end of the build of the MENG "Shilka" Mobile AA Gun.An interesting model to build in that there is nothing quite like it in the Armoured Vehicle world. The model as per MENG standards is very well produced and the fit is excellent,,apart from the cooling pipes..the pipes, can not be seen when the build is complete, well, not much of them..!! So to the Arena with the planners..!! Metal tracks compliment the build as do metal chains at the rear. Primed with Ultimate grey, and finished in Vallejo and AK Real Colors..Hope you like it, have a great show,,(I wont eat any bananas).

Hi guys. Last week i finished this build for the cold war build. The Trumpeter 1/35 gaz 66 and the Takom 1/35 t-55a. They went together well.
Primed in Ultimate gloss black primer. The paints used were mr hobby green along with a few a.mig colours for the detail, weathered with some Ultimate washes and some revell powders. The dio which was a first for me i used some woodland scenics grasses and gravel.

this is my Tamiya 1/24 scale lexas mobil 1 sc from 2006 i used Ultimate white primer for the main colour the decals were from cartograf and as always went down very well and i had problems with them the clear coat was tamiya ts 13 all in all ti was a great kit to do. Have a great evening

G’day y’all. Here ‘s something for the Forum. It’s another Doyusha 1/144, this time in the livery of MacRobertson Miller Airlines flying in Western Australia in the 1960s. The white is Tamiya TS-26, the metallic bits are a combination of TS-17, TS-30, AS-12 and MRP-81 Anodized Silver. The pale blue is my own mixture of TS-26 and TS-15 blue, blended using old colour photos as a guide. The decals are from Underworld Decals.

My 1/35 Zvezda Panzerjager 1 with Eduard PE set is now fully built apart from the friul tracks, so I can hopefully shoot some primer at it over the weekend.

Slowly getting there in my limited free time!

Managed to finish this 1/48 SAAB A36 Vargen (the wolf) this week. I build it for the bomber SIG but missed the deadline by a week. This was one of the final designs for a nuclear bomber that SAAB was working on for the Swedish Air Force. But as the Swedish nuclear program was shut down so was the A36, no designs made it past wind tunnel models. There are no 1/48 kits of the A36, so this is mostly scratch build using a picture of the wind tunnel model and a couple of early drawings as guide. The wings, fuselage and engines where 3d printed, the tail planes, engine nozzles and seat came out of a Tarangus Lansen, nose cone, parts of the cockpit and some of the lumps and bumps from a Tarangus Viggen plus a couple of parts from a Hasegawa Draken. Painted it in the blue, green scheme used on the J35 Draken using MR Paints and used some random Viggen decals from Tarangus and The Moose Republic.

Here is another bomber that was late to the raid. In fact she is still in the hangar.



The kit is an old 1:72 scale Monogram kit from 1983. My dad and I built it back then and I decided to build it again for the bomber SiG. I did use aftermarket decals from Caracal and a dark gray paint scheme. The kit being as old as it is had some warping issues. The fuselage required a lot of tape to get things in the right places. Some areas also required a good bit of two-part putty to fill in some gaps. It was primed in Badger/Ultimate gray and then painted with Vallejo Engine Gray. I put my money where my mouth is and selected that color using my color selection tool based on the decal color call-out. It is probably a little darker than it should be, but it works. I used resin exhaust parts from Barracuda Studios to replace the pathetic kit exhausts. I still need to get the decals sealed in with a clear coat, weather, and then Dullcote. Thanks for looking.

All sprayed through he Ultimate Apex airbrush
Kit decals went on great
General fit and detail of the kit was good.

So far cockpit area painted and half detailed. Mostly Citadel acrylics for the woodgrain

Airfix B-25 c/d Mitchell in 1:72nd
Primed in Ultimate grey primer. Paint used Vallejo brown violet and us dark green and Tamiya white.
Nice kit with no real fit issues but has really sapped my mojo for build aircraft. Everything from parts breaking , paint splatter and masking tape lifting to name a few problems. Up next decals . Hope you all have a good weekend Andrew

Well this week Mathew I have been playing with the finer detail.

Playing with "Off the Shelf" Norm's helmet, adding PE to form the interior and straps as well as a strap for his BAR. But also working on the church detail by making up some pray rails and the remains of the stain glass window at the rear from stretched sprue. Looking forward to bring this to a close in the shadow box.

1/16 Takom Renault FT-17

Slow progress on this one, more clean up of parts, rather than building, no where near as a clean a build as the Takom 1/16 IJA Type 94 previously, never mind, it's all adds to the modelling enjoyment, before you ask, yes this one will be going back in the box for a short period, once the kit arrives for the WW1 group build, well it wouldn't be one of my kits without a box being involved somehow.

Got a bit of time towards the end of this week to get my latest calsonic done. Tamiya 1/24 Calsonic Impul Z. Ultimate white primer, Zero paints calsonic blue, Mipa clear coat. Also used the tamiya detail set and added fabric belts. Lovely kit up to tamiyas usual standards. Happy with this one. 5 down, 4 to go!!

Lanc Resurrection.....

M&S rebox Revell 1/72 .... blah, blah!

So, last week the kit ended up in the bin (via the wall) following what can only be described as a tantrum of large proportions. Fortunately the only thing to follow it into the bin was some Ultimate peanuts so I hauled it out and started the repair. I've still got the fiddly small bits to attach and the canopy is only held on with white tack but in essence it's finished so I'm calling it done.
