NINA and PINTA , 1/75 Heller

Post by Džar »

I ship pictures of Nina and Pinta. They are both redesigned, I had them already built, ready, but I decided for complete reconstruction, painting, sails, ropes, etc. These are the Heller constructions and with that reconstruction there was a lot of work. Look, rate me if I did it.
I'm still remaking Santa Maria to have Colombus's fleet complete.
I also have a finished ship Nau San Gabriel, discoverer of Wasco de Gama, I will soon take pictures and send photos.

Great builds ! The postman delivered the Heller Columbus set today with all three ships. I noticed the Nina and the Pinta have exactly the same hull ?! Kinda disturbing. I'm wondering whether they accidentally packed two Ninas or Pintas instead of one of each...
Can you remember/confirm they both have the same hull and that only the uppers differ ?

Going by the images of the modern replicas in the link below they did seem to look very similar - both were Caravels.

Surprised to find RL replicas without ratlines. Heller does not mention them either in the instructions. I guess the modern replicas ànd Heller are doubtful. Unless single lines were enough for sailors as they were for rats...
Also Heller does not mention the lines on which sailors balanced to unroll or roll up the sails. Didn't they do that when Colombus crossed the Atlantic ?
