Ebbro lotus 72e

Post by Tay99 »

Hi all, I’ve nearly finished the Honda so I’ve made a start on this kit.

This is my next build project, lotus 72e as driven by Emerson Fittibaldi.
I’ve made a start with priming all the parts, and spraying the black body parts with zero paints.

Lovin' the JPS Lotus!! What decal set is that?
All of us get lost in the darkness, Dreamers learn to steer by the stars,
All of us do time in the gutter, Dreamers turn to look at the cars.

Stunning work and still one of the best looking Formula 1 cars ever in my humble opinion.
Cheers, Neil

I'd agree Neil, I think my favourite is the BT44 in Martini livery, although the McLaren M23/26 and MP4- 8s in Marlborough livery take some beating IMH. :th:

Thanks guys for looking in,

Haven’t had much time on this build. But this is where I am at.
Front suspension is now complete. Quite a complex job of getting it all to line, got there in the end just needs some paint touch up.

Nearly finished the engine and gearbox.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I’ve striped the chrome parts with Mr muscle oven cleaner.
The wheels where then primed and painted with Alcad gold, the silver edge was painted with Ak true metal silver.

Image

The gearbox and engine have been glued together and most of the rear suspension parts fitted
Also the exhaust have been fitted.

The front end has been attached to the monocoque as has the engine and gearbox.

I'd call it done - looks ten kinds of awesome without the bodywork!!

All of us do time in the gutter, Dreamers turn to look at the cars.

Hi guys thanks for all the comments.

This has been on the back burner a while, I’ve been on holiday and then come down with the flu.

I managed to get the decals and 2k gloss done before i went on holiday but never got round to posting them.

All I’ve got left to do is make up the seat belts.
