Tow Cables

Post by bfrd »

I may be building a piece of armor (Kd.Sfz 222) for the desert build and a tow cable is a must. By pure chance, a length of picture hanging cable was on my desk and I thought it would be a pretty close match.

Image

A tow cable would be about 1" in diameter. I used our handy-dandy Scale Calculator and set up a 1-inch cable for a 1:35 conversion.

Image

My picture cable measures in at 0.0285 inches, isn't that nice! :thumb2:

I got the cable in a generic picture hanging kit from Amazon for a few bucks. As an added bonus, I wasn't even going to use the cable part!

That's a bit of luck :D
I have some rb product....... 5m x 0.8mm ....which scales out to 1.1 inch. It is very springy though once heated up to cherry red it softens remarkably. The woven strands are quite fine and in scale too, but I think paint may obscure that.
