Spray Booth Filters

Hi Folks.

How often do you change your spray booth filters when using lacquer paints?

I normally spray acrylics though there are some lacquers in the mix. Generally I'll change it if it looks like it needs it. Or I'll change it if the airflow is hindered.

Example 1: The normal blue color is black/dark and dingy.

Example 2: I can see the vapor not being sucked up by the vent and/or the vent can't keep up with the sprayed vapor.

I put a bit of kitchen paper on the filter while the booth is turned on. If it doesn't get held in place by the airflow it's time to change the filter.

Good tip......I used to use my nose, if I could smell it then change....not the best method

I have this little foldy-up spray booth that I bought years ago but only started using it last summer.




Where might I find replacement filters that would fit it?

Summer is coming and I'll be getting back into airbrush usage again.

If venting outside then a simple furnace filter will do.
Such as
However if you can't vent to the outside world then a carbon impregnated material is needed and that costs a fair bit more.
