Sukhoï Su-25K - OEZ 1/48 scale

Post by ForeverPlasticKits »

Hi everyone

I started this build 2 weeks ago and it's very boring and time consuming one!
What kind of plastic kit deserves such critics? This one :

Image

I purchased it with a lot of add on, which are mosty very useful :

I started with the cockpit, no pin only light tracks on the floor, that's not help for the positioning of the parts :

See you soon for the next step, the assembly of the main parts of the fuselage and wings.

I'd not come across OEZ models before so a new one for me.

How old is the kit?

You've done great work getting that cockpit into such great shape given what the kit gives you to work with!
Cheers, Neil

You were able to do something pretty good out of something bad... and boring too.. not much detail in the kit it seems. Bon travail !

Thank you guys, this kit has no date but seems to be produced in the 80's (no more precision).

I continue the build with the wings, no big problem, they feet correctly :

Image

Insert the cockpit was also not difficult, thanks to the modification i made to fit the parts
of the fuselage in a satisfying manner (only rubbers are needed) :

Image

The parts of the jet engines needed a big sanding and some Surfacer to fill some pads :

Image

And finally i can glue all this parts together, with the help of Tamiya putty and Surfacer :

After a lot of work of sanding, cutting, gluing, degluing, adding stryrene and pa parts this is the result, now it stars to look like a bombs truck :

Ah yes, i forgot the putty, again and again and again!!

A lot of work (again!) is waiting for me on the cockpit and i could start the paint at last!

The build is almost finished, only a few details are missing.
Even the canopy is problematic, it's more narrow than the windshield, at this point i totally don't care (one mistake among several ones!)

Next steps are the last details (antennas) and the paint.

The kit is now ready for the paint, i hand made the masks while i have ones from Eduard ...
Glue the little parts on one antenna wasn't so difficult às expected, with the good pliers it was a child game!
