Clamps

Post by Roadie800 »

I am trying to find these clamps as reviewed in this YouTube link:

Does anyone know where these are available? I have not found them on EBay or Amazon and search results are not successful anywhere else. Is there a hobby outlet here in the US that might have them?

Affinity Models UK was referenced in the video, I thought I would start with them, but if there are vendors in the US that would be great. Thanks much.

As you might have noticed the vid is 8yrs old and they have gone out of production.
I have a set , but really need a second set sometimes 3 clamps are needed as no doubt you know.
I thought I had found a supplier in the UK, but they informed me they no longer stock them and were no help what so ever.

This catalogue was current for 2022 although it says it was last revised in 2011

They are by far the best clamp set I have and the ones I reach for the most if pegs are not large enough.
I never see them come up for sale either when a guy gets out of the hobby.

The holy grail of clamps. :)

I gave up looking in the end and made some, relatively easy with a drill press, although I made mine on a lathe.

Well done these are so hard to find.
Not quite exactly the same , but they work in the same way just by squeezing the arms together.
    I put a order in.

    Thanks for the replies.

After some digging, I found the Rebell site as well. I'm not sure what the x3 means (3 sets of 2 each?) but I'm ordering 2 sets. They are rather pricey but hopefully shipping for 2 will be the same as for one.

    3 clamps per set.
As to price yes a bit high for what they are, but bear in mind when I bought mine 5 or so years ago they were the same price per clamp and I don't regret buying them.

I have this collection of small clamps.
The black plastic ones one the left are half of the full set.
The pink plastic ones below those are from a set of 24.
The rest are one I've picked up over the years.

I also have this small vice that can clamp onto my table:

Nice collection you have amassed there.
I use the the pegs, but none of the others. I have tried the black plastic ones , but after a while I found the plastic became weak and they broke and flew apart at the hinge joint. After this happened 3 times the I binned the rest after nearly losing a eye from the spring flying out.
Anyway I have ordered a set of the clamps I want thanks to Neil.

With some of the black ones, I superglued some thin, black rubber gasket material that I found at work a few decades ago. It helps them from sliding of of the plastic surface of kits.

Oh I didn't check the ad first. I was wrong the ebay ones are listed in USD and that comes out as $17 aud a full $5 more and $30 in postage.
