Probably a silly question but you are talking about an Acrylic wash right?

Yeah you have just applied thinned paint so it won't come off. when using paint for a wash it needs to be ultra thin (like 80% thinner and 20% paint) and i prefer airbrushing it so it settles in recesses

ah ok I was just checking before I said the exact same thing Paul just did
Also might be worth noting to let your base coat dry fully before using a very thinned down wash, as the thinner has a tendency to agitate the paint underneath if your not careful....learned that the hard way .....

And if your wanting to remove most of the wash you need to apply a gloss coat before hand.

The 8:1 ratio worked pretty well. Thanks.

Like Lee said, make sure your surface is smooth with a clear coat varnish. Otherwise the wash will have problems spreading out.
Also, did you say water? I've never used H2O but I'm no expert. I'd use turpentine (in a well ventilated room) and paints if I didn't have the premixed washes. I also pin wash so I'm not quite sure if that has any jurisdiction.

You two are getting to be like that other famous double act Ant & Dec

No one knows which one of them is which but it hasn't held them back

How long should I leave it to set before I wipe it?
