Revell 1/72 B17G Flying Fortress

For the group build I am going to make the Revell B17G Flying Fortress. I have never built this kit before so it should be good.

Brief history
The Boeing B17G Flying Fortress is s four engine heavy bomber, developed in the 1938 for the United States Army Air Corps. The B17G was primarily employed by the United States Army Air Force in day light precision strategic bombing campaign od World War 2 against German industrial and military targets.

First steps was the bomb bay which was nicely detailed

Looking great so far, i'm building the same kit for the gb. When you get onto the chin turret make sure you don't glue the sides to the fuselage as it rotates.

the next stages of my build was more detail in the fuselage including the two machine guns seating and the ball turret , aswell as the top turret and the building of the tail gunner

so far this is a very nice kit I am very happy with the level of detail the wheel wells have some good detail in them and the engines are going to be sprayed in alclad aluminium then washed and weathered

sorry for the wait guys been rather busy lately what with school and that but anyway the next stages are here enjoy

here is my first attempt at pre shading it's not very good but it done the job




as I was using Mr Hobby Mr Metal colour I found using them that masking tape tends to leave mark on the paint after so to over come this I painted all the olive drab's and rad section's firsts then masked them separately and then sprayed the chrome silver.





after the paint job I started to mix the rust colour I have been trying to find a good rust colour for a while now but for this model I tried mixing my own shade using Tamiya metallic brown, brown red and a little it a orange

unfortunately when it came to giving the model a wash I used my home brew highly thinned Tamiya XF-1 I did put down 2 cotes of Johnson's clear
but when I came to taking it off it took the paint of with it. I cant re-spray it cause I used all the paint so there may be no more pictures sorry guys
