My first diorama

Careful, he spits!

The half-track is Tamiya (the right "greif" decal tore, so I used the spare red letter Greif, I prefer it anyways).

Camel and rider are from Master Box.

The palm tree is from Pegasus Hobbies.

All the paint is Tamiya. It was my first try with Ultimate washes. Light Dirt made a good dust for higher up (dust hides in the sand and goes everywhere when stirred up, sand stays a bit lower), the Ultimate sand was a bit too bright on the first try, a mix of 1 part Light Dirt and 2 parts Sand toned it down well.

Also the first try with the new camera, I probably could do better if I read the instructions, but as nothing burst into flames I won't.

That's really cool stuff Forbes! That camel couldn't have been an easy thing to paint... They spit ya know?
:)
I freaking love that Palm tree, it looks like you put a wash to it? It looks really sharp bud.
Nicely done!!

Yup, the palm got a dose of Ultimate sand too. I still need to hit the top of the fronds with a semi-gloss finish, the top is glossy on the real ones the underside is matte and darker.

The camel wasn't hard to paint. The saddle and harnesses on the other hand...

According to Tamiya at least, the Greif didn't wear the DAK insignia (it may not be included due to the swastika) and I'm not a fan of the swastika anyway, but I got the palm tree in there. :nena:

Thanks. Model Master made a really good model. Went together fine, there were seem lines to be sanded off. The camel itself was painted in dark yellow, a brown was used on a couple of spots and then a brown wash.

Sue me. It would have taken forever to sand off.
