Trumpeter 1/32 Croatian Migs

Hello...

My first build submitted here. These are Croatian Air Force Mig-21UMD and Mig-21bisD.
D letter stands for "upgraded" in Croatian. Migs got this designation after overhaul in Romania.
Anyway, models are Trumpeters 1/32 Migs. I used Eduard exterior and interior sets, True Details seats and lot of scratch build.
BisD nosecone is made in turning lathe machine and is made of steel so in addition to correct shape it is nose weight also.
I also added hydraulic and pneumatic pipes on wheel struts and in wheel bays, made a number of small antenna, static dischargers, corrected air scoops, wheel chokes and so on.
I used variety of decals. Ze-Ro rundels. Numbers, coat of arms, knight head with shield, red and white stencils made by me. White Begemot stencils.
Base is made with hard paper that mimic concrete texture. Gap between plates is filled with thick dark grey oil paint to recreate tar that is used in reality.
I painted some oil marks and dirt, added some vegetation in gaps. I'm not sure if I got it but looks OK to me.

At the end I'm not entirely satisfied with outcome but I'm happy that models are done at last.

must have taken a long time to build
and those camo schemes.wow
why can't we have our F-16's painted like that
but that is with.more planes from the former soviet union i think they can have outstanding camo.

Oh...those MIG's are gorgeous pieces of work, but.....you're a very brave man placing the diorama balanced on a first floor balcony wall?!! Good job it wasn't windy, or you didn't accidently hit the corner when adjusting your camera angle! I would have been sweating and panicking watching you do that!
