The kit

So made a start on this last night and have been working on it on and off today.

A little bit of info about those strange vehicles

An 'Observation Post' was converted from an ordinary tank by removing the gun and mantlet, installing armour plate over the resultant hole, and then installing a dummy wooden mantlet and gun made from wood. The turret machine gun was left functional but changed to a ball mounted version. There were 40 vehicles converted to this role in late '44 or early '45.
Instructions are a nightmare yes they are colour but they are not clear at all.

This is where I'm currently at

Exhausts storage bins and jack/mount all attached, I'm using a mix of the kit plastic and supplied PE, some of the kit PE is just too damn fiddly and I don't want this to turn into a long drawn out build

The exhausts were also drilled out

It looks like a great kit
But does it come at a reasonable price
These white boxes can cost a pretty penny
Altough they have some rare subjects in that range

Where and how?

I only have one white box of a stug III G and that was on sale
Most are about 10 to 20 euros more then a regular dragon kit
And they had green boxes too for about a year they had prices that whent trough the roof but they where even more packed with goodies then premium editions
But these are very hard to find these days

I totally agree with you about the instructions not clear. I have the orange box of the M1A1 and the instructions are quite badly done.

So started assembling the upper hull

Fairly trouble free, the kit is great, the photo instructions suck balls though, really vague and useless lol

Upper and lower hulls together

Turret and false gun barrel

Roadwheels etc test fitted

So I've managed to get all the fiddly tools clamps and spare track holders and PE grills done took me about 6 hours in total. The instructions are damn awful too

Also made a start on the magic tracks

Looks awesome though buddy. The whole thing looks nice and neat, in spite of those ridiculous instructions. I'm so glad that dragon binned that idea.

Just noticed I've left a few parts of the spare track link holders and one of the tools too, will add them later today

Cheers fellas

So I added the armour plates and brackets, leavings few out and creating damage to the plates

I've also thinned out and damaged the front fender so it ties in with the damaged armor plate

All ready for primer

And primed in ak dark yellow primer

This goes to one side for a week or so while I work on the p-51 and corsair

Got the ammo dunkelgelb it it today and then the olivegrun Camo pattern, the ammo one was too dark IMO.

Need to paint the roadwheels again as I wasn't sure if they were just yellow or had Camo on it and coen informed name they didn't

Wasn't sure on the Camo, but coen says it looks ok so that's enough for me

I used the pattern in the top picture for a guide
