Meng 1/35 D9-R Armoured bulldozer

Just completed and all hand painted using Vallejo paints. I wanted to achieve a clean looking build like it just came out of the factory.
I decided to go with the IDF Combat Engineers School Bahalatz August 2008 scheme because I really liked the colour.

I thoroughly enjoyed building this right from the start, it is a very well engineered and thought out kit and was fun to build. Most of the pieces virtually snapped into place. A fair amount of sanding was needed on some of the parts because of the ejection points on the mould which were fairly easy to remove but were in places that are in full view. I would certainly buy another kit from Meng this was the first one from them I have built and I was not dissapointed, although they are a bit costly in the end I thought it was worth it.

Thanks for the comments guys and yes Coen its all done with a hairy stick using Vallejo Air Hemp 71023. I could only find this particular shade in Vallejo Air and not in the Vallejo Model Color range. The first coat I applied with the brush was very thin and like water, after that dried the second coat was a little darker but it took quite a few coats eventually building up into a very smooth plastic like finish. I love these Vallejo paints since I have made the switch from Humbrol and Testors enamels. With a little patience and the right wide brush they look great with very little if any sign of brush strokes.

Awesome finish! I'm particularly impressed since it was hand brushed as well... this is making think about switching back to hand brushing as I just can't get to grips (or have any success) using an air brush.
