British Home Front Figures

I was lucky to be asked a few months ago, by Andy Preston of Trackpads and DOA Paints, to paint for him a series of figures he had in mind of the British Home Front, these were to be loosely based on period photographs. All he wanted were decent pics in return to post in his webshop, so I jumped at the chance.

Here are the first four of the the range I have done, the first is a Milkman, the base is made from a jar top





Next a member of the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS) with a child



And the pic it's based on



Next a female ARP Warden with a screaming child





And the latest one, a lady sat on the ruins of her house drinking a cup of tea



There are a couple more so far in the pipeline so will post when they are done

They are excellent work, wish I could paint figures like that!

Thanks very much Mark, I have been modelling for over 50 years on and off and over half that with various types of figures, practice and patience, and try and look at the various excellent tutorials that are on the internet, these can be useful and very helpful.

Even join a club, as ask the member how they do things, Salisbury has an IPMS club and holds a great yearly exhibition
