1/48 MENG Me 410B-2/Ua Heavy Fighter

Post by rodrant »

Hi ,

Since i finish the Vietnam pibber for the GB , I wasn't quiet , so build my MENG Me 410 'Hornisse' , the build is a beautiful kit , Decals from Cartograph ( the only complaint that I had on the kit , the number of decals aren't enough on some ,as an example , the ones to place in the small ailerons in the tail and on the wings ...but not very important to my point of view ) . I make the option to place the engines closed an the gun bay fitted , but and maybe I will for another one just to show all this detail , the engines are just perfect and with a lot of potencial to the modeller that wish to show a detailed Daimler Benz WW2 Engine ! The cockpit details are gorgeous and no need to buy after market on this one , it brings some PE parts for the seat belts and for the radiator engine ...even it isn't the most perfect paint job , here are some photos ( on Daylight ! Yes it is a first one to me  )

The gear is also very fragile ( even in this the kit is as the real thing , seems that was a problem on this beautiful airplane )

The base is a corck frame , I place some Noch diorama grass sheet on top and make a hole to place an eduard kit for a wooden airfield surface , painted in Wooden deck from tamiya and weathered with AK for Wood and some stains of kerosene for AK also .

On this plane I use the new AK interactive RLM colors , and they are very nice to spray . use also their black primer .Had an issue for the first time as I do not usually wash the parts before assembly or painting , but this kit bring a lot of grease from the injection process , and the primer did not 'grab' well at first .So I Advice to wash the parts before assembly as it was an issue with this grease and not with the primer that even though worked perfectly , and this colors are very nice to use !
The moting was done using an Eduard moting mask etch set , and it works very well if used carefully .

Weathering done with Ultimate Dark Dirt wash !

Hi Yevgeny ,

IT is a very good kit in my opinion , even If you are in the more detailed display you have the option to depict the engines or the gun bay that have a wonderful detail OOB .

Definitely I recommend this kit !

Thank you Martin , yes I use for the first time an Eduard Template( I call it a Mask etch ...it is really a template...) for the mottling and worked quite well , I have an Heinkel HE 219 UHU from Tamiya and will use it again as the color scheme has this mottling also .
